Bringing it back

Over 2 years since my last blog post here! It's amazing how different life is now. Older, wiser, and happier I like to think.

Summary recap:

  • Moved to Austin in April 2012 to go back to work at the tech company I co-oped at during college.
  • Joined the Rollingwood master's swim group.
  • Rode across the country with Team Will. 800+ miles in 10 days.
  • Trained under Coach Brandon Marsh for IM Louisville and Austin 70.3 in 2012.
  • Ran a 100km (ended up being 60 miles due to last minute course changes) in March 2013 with my best friend Jocelyn.
  • Redeemed myself on the Wildflower long course course in May 2013.
  • Started training at Atomic Athlete in June 2013.
  • Met my boyfriend Mike in July 2013. He's also a triathlete, short course being his speciality.
  • Trained under Coach Tod Moore at Atomic for Austin 70.3 in fall 2013. PR for the half-ironman distance.
  • Joined the Moxie Multisport team based here in North Austin with Mike.
  • Attempted the Gulf Coast Interstate Relay in April 2014 with Jocelyn and Ricky. DNFed at mile 181 when we were lost in a thunderstorm.
  • Raced IM Texas using a Coach Tod Moore plan with a Team Marsh plan for general structure and swim workouts. PR for the full ironman distance.

The new goal for the next 2-3 years is to go sub-5 in a half-ironman (I realize I attempted this back in 2011 but clearly that was a fail) and then 10:45 (or less) in a full. I am using this blog to hold myself accountable and also outline and analyze my training plans and workouts in order to hit both goals.

Reading back through my old posts I kind of want to delete them. But, that was who I was at a younger age, and I don't necessarily want to forget where I came from.
