Old Man Winter

It's December 6th and it's already snowed at least twice in the first week of this month. Here are a couple of pictures of the view from my house earlier this week for Pat:

So the ground is white and the temperatures have only made it above freezing maybe twice this week. I am so not prepared for this weather. My winter coat is still at home since I didn't expect it to be this cold so early plus I had no head wear until today when I realized if I ever wanted to run outside again I would need to find something for my ears.

It's funny though that I don't even feel the need to run anymore. Before this summer it felt weird if I went more than two days without running. As of today, I haven't run since last Saturday when was home due to the cold and worrying I would slip on the sidewalks, but I don't feel like I'm missing anything. Instead I think swimming has replaced it. Now I feel weird if I go more than two days without swimming. But swimming I think is much better on my joints and my knee doesn't hurt. However, I guess now if I do want to go run in the next two weeks I have a headband for my ears.

I LOVE the pictures! Thanks! It DOES bring back memories! We had our first freeze night before last. There go the banana trees in our back yard. They provide such a nice green canopy over our patio all summer that I always hate to see them freeze. However, yesterday got up to almost 70, so go figure! Today is also supposed to be warm and then more freezing weather middle of the week. Such is winter in our area!
