so currently my job sucks. But that's not the point of this entry. The Danskin Triathlon was this past weekend - 800m swim, 12mi bike, 5km run. I finished second in my age group, 3 seconds behind the first place. I was 42nd overall, out of almost 2600 finishers. It was a crazy large race. I did a 71.4 mile bike ride the day before too since I wanted to get in a long ride for Buffalo Springs and I didn't think I'd be able to place since there were over 100 entrants in my age group (91 finishers). So I'm quite happy that I managed to go balls out for the race.

It's funny my friends and my mom all missed me coming off the bike and at the finish since they underestimated my speed. It was a super hilly bike course and a trail run, so I went quite fast I think. And the swim is supposedly long because there was a current and buoys were getting blown around.

Wow that's super. Top 2%?! Shieeeet.
We should race one day. I think I might have a chance if I take my car. -_-
nice job at danskin! that is pretty far up there! my bike is a Scott Plasma and I use Zipp 808 wheels. I do have a couple sponsors which helps out greatly but I still end up paying a bunch for the sport...its worth it though!
You'll do fine in your half iron! My first one that I ever did was my first year in the sport of triathlon. I had only gotten a bike 3 weeks before it. I also never swam more than 1/2 mile, never rode over 20 miles, and didn't run over 10 miles, but still finished. I'm sure you'll have a great time, good luck!!
Hope things improve at work. A little rest might help?? Just a thought for the weekend.
Every time I go to your blog, I am reminded how out of shape I am. But to answer your question, that would be Ikea furniture ,it is all I can afford haha. Come visit! You may be forced to grow up, but no one can force us to stop drinking and have a bitter outlook on our profession.
